About Us
Joy is a pioneering wellbeing and community hub in Birkenhead, bringing together mental health support, arts, culture, creativity and connection under one roof. We believe wellbeing happens through community, belonging and meaningful experiences, creating a space where people can be themselves, access support and thrive.
Joy opened in summer 2026, using lots of love and human connection. The Wirral community came together to breathe new life, colour, and energy into a part of the world that is rich in history, heritage, and human stories with an emerging cultural and wellbeing agenda. The start of this was to work with young people from the OOMOO project to rip up, smash and paint bomb the building to ignite its colourful future.
